Top Reasons People Fail To Make Money Online

Is the idea of making money online for You ?

The idea of starting up to make money online and often residual income is often so excited because making money online through blogging can both be fun and at the same time make a good side income for you.

And for some money bloggers, you can also totally turn your blog into a full-time gig if you work with your blog the RIGHT WAY.

For many, it is a good dream, but I will also have to be honest to you and tell you, that a lot of people starting up with making money online will fail – why ?

A lot of us want easy money for little work. It is in our nature, that we dream of avoiding hard work and seek pleasure, and many of us are impatient and want to be rewarded as soon as possible.

And it is these human instincts that the scammers in the making online money business are playing with to get you to sign up to their making money online scam projects.

These scammers make newbies believe, that if you start up in their making money online system today, you will start making lots of money in a short time, and your life will look totally different in a couple of months.

These online making money scam projects make us sign up for the projects typically with this kind of dreams:

– The dream of setting up effective online business systems with very little effort of work.
– The dream of making lots of money fast.
– The dream of making money while sleeping.
– The dream of owning a Cash machine that works 24/7 on autopilot.
– The dream of waking up to hundreds of commissions/sales every week.

After newbies have tried several of these fantastic “magic button scam projects” and discovered that it is not working, they lose motivation (and money), and that is the brutal reason why 9 out of 10 fails in the making money online business – THAT WAS THE BAD INFORMATION.

THE GOOD INFORMATION IS that anyone with a computer and access to the Internet has the potential to earn great money. In fact, to make money online through blogging is a very inexpensive way to start up your making money online business.

The fact that starting a blog is so inexpensive and the income potential is so high, then there really is no reason not to start a blog, if you have the motivation and passion to do it.

But to succeed in the online business world requires exactly the same dedicated effort to be successful as in any other industry – online or outside the online world – Simple as that.

The Making Money online business is just like any other business, it takes time for you to build your foundation, set up your blog, create quality content within your niche, get your content/products to rank in the Search Engines (free relevant traffic) and build trust with your potential customers.

Therefore, you need to know that money blogging is not going to be “an easy walk in the park“, and you shouldn’t expect overnight results, but of course you make money with this kind of business, even with no experience at all.

To help you to succeed with your money blogging I will here give you 7 top reasons people fail to make money online:

1 – Lack of passion – Lots of people chose the wrong topic/niche, but money blogging                   requires, that you pick the right topic/niche for you.

2 – Lack of blogging goals and mindset – Money Blogging requires setting clear goals and         the right mindset.

3 – Lack of dedication and focus – Money Blogging requires dedication and focus.

4 – Lack of time – Money Blogging requires a lot of time.

5 – Lack of patience – Money Blogging requires a lot of patience.

6 – Lack of traffic – Money Blogging requires a lot of relevant traffic.

7 – Lack of having an email list – To make serious money blogging you need an email list.

1 – Lack of passion – Lots of people chose the wrong topic/niche, but money blogging requires, that you pick the right topic/niche for you.

One of the biggest reasons that so many bloggers fail is because they start a blog they are not passionate about. They either start in a particular niche because they saw a particular blogger making lots of money in that niche or maybe they start in a niche because they are chasing the easy money.

They know that the niche is profitable and even though they are not interested in that topic, they are only doing it because of the money.

If you plan on becoming a successful money blogger, you need to choose a topic that you are passionate about. You don’t have to be an expert in the niche, but you need to be interested in it and be willing to continue learning about it.

It will often be extremely challenging to have success online if you’re just chasing the money because you many times won’t have the energy and motivation to keep blogging when you’re not making money if you have no interest and passion in the niche.

You will need to be writing a lot of content about your topic (to build up trust within your niche), and it is just so much easier when you are passionate about the things you are writing about.

And you must also remember when you are passionate about something you will often also be good at what you are passionate about. Further, people often can “feel” if you are passionate about the content you are writing about.

The good thing about the making money online business is, that it will not cost you a lot of money every month to work with your business – the most important investment for you is your TIME.

2 – Lack of blogging goals and mindset – Money Blogging requires setting clear goals and the right mindset.

I know that many bloggers are scared of creating goals that are hard to accomplish. But even if you are afraid of setting up goals, Why not set minor goals for your blog ? It helps you to stay motivated, structured and consistent.

Even if you’re blogging only a couple of hours per week, you should set goals. Ask yourself where do you want to see your blog grow in the next month or three months ? When you have goals, you create a more clear picture of your blog and makes it easier for you to prepare an action plan.

Therefore, you need to set-up realistic goals for your business, especially also with the time, you can spend at your online business.

When you have set-up your blogging goals then next question is important – Are you willing to work for FREE ?

This is a very important question when you are starting up with your money blogging business! Building your own passive income stream online is NOT an ordinary employee job. You don’t get paid by the amount of time you spend. Instead it is trading TIME for MONEY.

Another way to look at the issue about working for free – is to choose a niche for your online business that you are really passionate about and not look at it as your job, but as your hobby, where you are able to help other people. Many people spend lots of hours every week on their hobby and don’t expect to get paid for that.

If you, for example, is passionate about healthy living, then you can start a blog about healthy living and write about all kind of healthy living tips, that can help people. If you are passionate about this, you will not look at it as your online business but more like your hobby.

The good thing is that you over time also can earn money with your hobby/blog through affiliate marketing where you promote products that you know is good for healthy living.

The only way for you to succeed in the making money online blogging is when you are willing to work for FREE in the start-up phase of your business.

Why ?

Because the Making Money online blogging business is just like any other business, it takes time for you to build your foundation, set up your website, create quality content, get your content/products to rank in the Search Engines (free relevant traffic) and build trust with your potential customers.

All these features take time and you should not expect to get PAID during this time period.

For those people who only focus on the results and how fast they can start making money, they will more likely be going to quit prematurely. Simply because they don’t have enough patience, because of a wrong mindset.

However, if you’re willing to consistently put in the hard work despite not seeing any results, there’s a big chance that you’ll succeed in the long-run. And if you work with your money blogging the right way, then in the long run there is a very good chance, that you will get paid very well back for the time you worked for free.

3 – Lack of dedication and focus – Money Blogging requires dedication and focus.

When I say dedication, I tried to prepare myself for my money blogging when I started up in the business and also tried to be very realistic when I decided to start-up in the money blogging business.

I knew from the start, that I would not be able to put in time every single day to my new online business due to the fact, that I also have a family and a full-time job.

But I was very determined to decrease a few things like watching TV and surfing the internet, and instead, use some of the saved time on my new online blogging business.

Therefore, I also decided to put up a monthly schedule to post and work with my blog, because what often happens is that new bloggers get too excited when they launch their blogs. They write posts every day, or even several times a week to engage their audience as quickly as possible.

As soon as they don’t see the results they expect or hope for, they get unmotivated, they slow down or stop writing. After some time they don’t even bother to check their blog, and they are disappointed with their current results, and they will fail with their business.

Therefore, I recommend to always having a posting schedule for your blog, no matter how your blog is progressing. Let it be once in a week, or twice in a week, or what suits your schedule, and hereby set time aside for your blog.

Trust me, it’s so important to obtain consistency in money blogging. Many people will fail on that.

Further many bloggers fail to concentrate on one blog and turn your blog into a success before moving on to another blog. I recommend to remain focus on your current blog and stop building several blogs.

Start focusing on one blog and get success with that blog before you move on to other blogs.

Building one successful blog takes a lot of hard work, focus, and dedication. You will have to work twice as hard if you’re trying to build two blogs at one time.

4. Lack of time – Money Blogging requires a lot of time.

You have to be aware of, that money blogging is not just about creating content. You also have to spend time on things like:

  • Setting up and managing your blog.
  • Spending time about knowing more about your niche and how to promote your business the best way.
  • Social Media Marketing.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) of your blog.
  • Communication with your audience.
  • Networking with other bloggers.

So keeping track of every task or action of your online business will take time, and you should be willing to perform these tasks to be successful with your online business.

Often if you work with the different tasks in a structured way, and further working with your business the RIGHT WAY, then you can save a lot of time.

If you are new to money blogging a good training platform can save you a lot of time with the different tasks, and get you on the right track with your business right from the start.

I chosed a training platform with a good reputation when I started up my money blogging business – and it has been a very good investment for me, and this investment has already paid me back many times in saved time and doing the
things with my business THE RIGHT WAY.

5 – Lack of patience – Money Blogging requires a lot of patience.

As a money blogger, you need to publish new content on a regular basis. You don’t have to publish new content on a daily basis, but you’ll want to create a blog schedule that fits with your daily or weekly life and important stay with that plan.

Most people who get started with blogging will be consistent for the first few weeks or months. Once they see how much work goes into growing a blog, but not seeing any results, they will either lose interest or just stop being consistent with creating content for the blog.

If your blog is brand new, you will have to write as many high-quality posts as quickly as you can. I started noticing a difference in my traffic as soon as I had around 50 well-researched blog posts, but that can be different depending on what niche you are working with.

For many newbies in the making money online business, it can be a good idea to get yourself out of the money outcome mindset.

Instead, concentrate your start-up phase on learning new things, applying and adding   VALUE!… and ENJOY the process!

Regarding myself, I have not from the start focused on the money in my online business but more the possibility of helping others with things that I think is interesting. Helping other people give me a KICK and help me a lot with my personal mindset and how positive I am in my daily life.

Then how long does it take to make money online ?

I can’t tell you when you will make money online, but I can tell you that you WILL make money… IF you do the work THE RIGHT WAY and give yourself the TIME – if you make an agreement with yourself, that you are willing to do ‘whatever it takes as long as it takes’ –

To make money with your online business will of course also depends on how much time you can put into your online business, but if you want a number I would say that you should expect at least from 6 months to a year before you begin to see results from your blog. But again it very much depends on your niche, how structured you work with your blog and the amount of time you can work with your blog every week.

But if you keep doing the work, no matter if it is on a daily basis or only a few times a week you will see results if you have the patience.

Therefore, make a plan every week of when and what you are going to do with your online business within the week. It will help you a lot to be working structured with your online business and with a weekly time schedule.

Make sure you work with your business at least every week. How often you will work with your business is up to YOU.

If you are prepared for and take it into your mindset, that in the beginning, you’re going to put in a lot of hard work without seeing any results, then after some time slowly your business will start to gain some traction over time if you keep putting in consistent hard work.

And if you work a long time and hard enough, you will most likely see, that your traffic, sales, and income after some time, suddenly will begin just to grow exponentially.

That’s the reality, and in order for you to enjoy the huge reward at the back, you need to be willing to WORK FOR FREE and push through the tough times as I mentioned earlier – if you are willing to do “whatever it takes as long as it takes”YOU WILL SUCCEED with your online business – simple as that – TRUST ME.

6 – Lack of traffic – Money Blogging requires a lot of relevant traffic.

You are making a big blogging mistake if you are not making Search Engines Optimization – SEO – of your blog posts.

I see many new bloggers don’t understand SEO at all, and they even don’t want to go in detail with SEO. They find it complicated and even hard to optimize their website for search rankings.

Speaking of my personal experience, search engine optimization is not as complicated as we think! I don’t say it’s a piece of cake, but you can learn the basics all on your own, even with no experience.

When your blog posts are keyword optimized, you start gaining organic FREE relevant traffic from Search Engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo, and you don’t need to actively promote every day to get page-views to your blog posts.

Therefore, if you’re serious about building a great online empire, it is very important that you also focus on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The reason is, that the Search Engines have the potential to drive traffic to your old posts, even if you have been writing them years ago.

Many people will often focus 100% on social media traffic because it’s quicker to do than SEO, and they are on Social Media every day. There’s nothing wrong with using social media to get traffic to your blog, but I recommend that you also, make sure that you learn everything you can about SEO.

If you start to focus at On-page SEO right from the start of your blogging – You can read more about On-page SEO Here – then as your blog ages, Google and the other Search Engines start to trust your blog, if you have quality content at your blog and will send free relevant traffic to your blog posts, and you will be happy that you took the time to SEO optimize your blog posts. You’ll be getting free relevant traffic from Bing, Yahoo, and Google.

Relevant traffic that comes from the Search Engines is more valuable than other types of traffic. These people are often looking for something specific and if you can give them what they are looking for, you’ll make sales and some will even convert into your email subscribers – more about email subscribers later in this article.

When I started my blogging, I didn’t focus on keywords. I ended up writing many blog posts focused around keywords that I’ll never rank for.

For several months, I didn’t get any organic traffic. So If you’re NOT doing keyword research, it’s time that you start learning how to find low competition keywords, that can send relevant traffic to your blog.

It takes time to brainstorm topics with keywords that you can write for. But in the long run, you’ll be happy that you took the time to do it.

The best part is that you won’t end up wasting time like I did writing blog posts that no one will ever find.

7. Lack of having an email list – To make serious money blogging you need an email list

Tell me…

Do you have an email list for your blog ?

Have you ever thought of creating an email list to speak to your loyal audience ?

Email marketing is huge! Though social media is fast and this is where the message circulates easily, then an email list is still very effective. If you have a blog and you want to turn it into a business in the future then having an email list is crucially important.

One of the biggest internet marketers – Neil Patel says this:

“Your email list is going to be your highest converting traffic channel.”

I know that building an email list sounds like just more work for your blog, but if you do it the right way, it is actually rather easy to do.

Therefore, if you offer any service, want to grow your audience, sell products, run marketing campaigns, use different monetization strategies, make a trustworthy relationship with your readers and build expertise then an email list is what you need.

Why ?

Because people want to read and listen to you if you are an expert within your niche and an email is the best way to make a direct relationship with your readers.

Every other entrepreneur, company or a blogger who runs a serious business online has an email list. They have email automation, sales funnels, targeted email marketing campaigns and more!, because an email list is a safe place to form a relationship with your audience.

Reason ?

Your readers actually open your emails. You speak to them one-on-one. You make a relationship with them. You know about their problems and needs.

And, you can encourage them to take action.

Most importantly, an email list is your own safe zone area that you proudly own.

You pay an email auto-responder that automates and set up emails for you.

An email list gives you this advantages:

  • No interference of any social network. Social networks can close down and everything you have built up with that Social network can go to 0 in one day.
  • No risk of losing the traffic to your blog – You always have the risk, that free organic traffic to your blog is suddenly decreasing.
  • With your own email list, you gradually build, own and grow your email list. You don’t risk being affected by external factors.

Therefore, if you want that trusted connection with your readers then I highly recommend you to build an email list. I made this mistake and did not build an email list from the beginning. But, I don’t want you to repeat this.
